Just looking at the attractions themselves… You have to consider the educational value of the place you’re taking students to; does it feature tour stops of value, museums, art galleries, historical sites, monuments, relevant government sites and buildings? MLK Memorial - Washington, DC
Washington has Presidential Monuments, memorials, and even the new Martin Luther King Memorial, which opened just recently and was dedicated in October 2011. Each of these memorials and monuments have incredible historical value, and offer students a chance to see, touch, and breathe in the experience of each place. Seeing a student have a “lightbulb moment” when they are close up to a large stone structure that embodies a former US President or American Icon, the value goes way beyond education and gives more than any book or words on a page. These are life-changing experiences!
SAT Provides complete student field trips that include knowledgeable tour guides that student groups get the most from their school tours. It is just as important to have a good person give you background and history of the places you are seeing, as the place itself. A good tour guide is an integral part of any tour, and we ensure that the guides are well-versed in the areas where they take our groups, and have expertise that students can gain insights from.
